Albany rock band, Ten Year Vamp, will open for Aerosmith on August 26, 2010 at the New York State Fair.  This is the first day of the New York State Fair, held in Syracuse NY.  The concert will be held at the Mohegan Sun Grandstand at 7:30pm. The State Fair Grandstand is an outdoor venue which has a roof that only covers the top upper level seating sections, all events are held rain or shine.  Tickets for the show will be $94 or $84 available at Ticketmaster.  Other events at the Grandstand during the fair this year, will be Jeff Dunham, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Rush, Tim McGraw, and Rascal Flatts.

“We’ve had our fingers crossed for about 2 months now, hoping to get this show,” said Mark Rose, the rhythm guitar player and co-founder for Ten Year Vamp.  “We had to get approval from a bunch of different people, including Aerosmith themselves to do this.  We’re extremely thankful to the State and everyone involved for giving us the chance.”

In the past two months, Ten Year Vamp has opened for Bon Jovi, The Gin Blossoms, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.  In addition, one of their songs was used on MTV’s The Real World New Orleans, and their songs have been licensed by the Adobe Corporation and Dockers Jeans.

Ten Year Vamp will perform this Thursday, August 20, at the Icehouse in Saratoga, August 21 at the Meadowbrook Saloon in Amsterdam, and August 22 at Mahoney’s in Poughkeepsie.
