The All-New AlbanyAlive.com
You’ve probably noticed the face-lift already. We’ve taken all our friends, fans, and clients into consideration with the design of new site and will continue to work hard on it for you. It’s a big step in the right direction for us. We have always wanted the website to be an enjoyable experience for our users, but it’s been a challenge to find the time and the right web technologies to organize the 40,000 photographs we have published at any given time. You will notice a much easier-to-use interface, faster page load times, and most importantly a completely new and enjoyable photo browsing experience.
What about all the old AlbanyAlive photographs? What happens to them? Don’t worry. They will be back. It’s going to take some time as we have to manually bring them over to our new platform, but expect to see the old website’s photos, as well as really old photographs we have stored on our server from years and years ago. We have over 120,000 images, so it’s going to take a while, but if you are looking for something specific, feel free to e-mail us and we will e-mail you the photo. Just give us the venue, date, and some idea as to what you look like. We’re happy to get the photos to you during our transition.
We’re also kicking open the doors to our directories and will be adding local area businesses and musicians free of charge. Of course if a business or band wants to be featured there will be premium services available, but don’t be scared. We understand times are still tough, budgets are still tight, and we will provide affordable options to those who are serious about getting their name out there to our fans.
Commenting is now open on all of our articles and photo posts. We ask that everyone be courteous to each other. Opinions are welcome, but derogatory, inappropriate comments, and profanity will not be tolerated. We want this to be a channel for you to suggest ideas and talk to each other. We consider the website to be a community supported entity, so we want you involved. If you are really feeling courageous and want to write an article about an event, we might consider it, just drop us a line.
Anyways, we hope you like the new site. Keep giving us suggestions and please contact us with your events. Your support is what keeps the site going and the photographs free, so please continue to hire us for promoting your events, providing event photography, and helping us grow. We promise we will do our best to give back to you as we can. We want to make the Capital Region a better place. It’s our home too!
On a final note, we want to give a big shout-out to Erik Straub, a rock-star developer who has helped us make these big website changes. You can follow him on twitter @brickattack and we strongly suggest you hire him if you need web development work. He has our highest recommendation. If you need his contact information, give us a call at the office, 518-533-5331.

A New Face to AlbanyAlive.com
Albany, NY, June 10th, 2010 — Alive Entertainment LLC (A.E.) announced here today the expansion of it’s major regional dot com and brand AlbanyAlive™. The improvements to the website include:
- new photo gallery
- new article publishing platform focusing on live events
- new business directory tied to the photo gallery
- new local music directory tied to the photo gallery
- new advertising platform
- and open commenting and discussion
With the economic scare continuing to be a major crutch for local businesses, A. E. aims to provide an affordable, alternate, media-outlet to high-priced newspaper, radio, and television advertising. Using the upgraded AlbanyAlive.com website, A.E. will focus the rest of the 2010 year on expanding it’s online directories and continuing to expand it’s event coverage within the NY Capital Region.
Included with the AlbanyAlive.com web expansion comes a refined lineup of A.E. services. “Just because budgets are smaller and consumer spending trends have changed, does not mean local businesses need to stop marketing. In fact, now is the time, more than ever for a focus to be made on marketing alternatives. We have creative and affordable options to tap the local market and the ability to track ROI for all of our clients,” explained Co-Owner and President, Edward Baker. “Now is the time you need out-of-the-box, cutting-edge creativity to get noticed. That’s our specialty.”
Baker continues to hint at the expansion into other Upstate NY cities, but is withholding what city is next on the lineup. “We’re going to expand again. Soon. It’s going to take the right sponsors and some more planning, but we have the team to do it. While everyone else is frozen and afraid to make moves, we are taking advantage of time to better everything we do.”
